Melek Mazıcı, graduated in 1981 from the Painting Department of the National Academy of Fine Arts, Istanbul. Two years later, she opened her first solo show in Finland, followed in the years to come by others in France, Spain, Denmark and the USA. She continued her studies at the Helsinki Fine Arts Academy between 1985 and 1989 and at the Stockholm Royal Academy between 1989 and 1990. Mazıcı is mostly concentrated on etching and develops her own techniques in the field. Her etchings regularly displayed in Helsinki and in Istanbul.

In addition, since 1990, the works of Mazıcı are collected and exhibited by several contemporary art museums located in different cities of Finland. The artist continues to explore the endless possibilities of etching at her studio in Helsinki.
