Utku Varlık, started studying at the Painting Department of the National Academy of Fine Arts in 1966, and there he shared the same atelier with painters such as Alaettin Aksoy, Komet and Mehmet Güleryüz. As of 1970, he continued his studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He opened his first exhibition in Geneva in 1965, followed in later years by regular exhibitions in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, Cannes, Lyon and Paris. Varlık’s works are represented in the collections of the National Museums of Istanbul and Ankara, in that of the Turkish Central Bank, as well as in the international collections of the US Ben and Abey Gray Foundation, the Paris Municipality, the Paris National Library and the Museum of Lyon. Varlık continues his working in his atelier in Paris.
